How many stocks are currently traded in China’s A-share market (Shanghai and Shenzhen Stock Exchanges)? (Updated October 2019)

China’s stock market has developed rapidly in recent years. Many companies have sought listing and financing in order to achieve better growth. This also provides more opportunities for Chinese and overseas stock investors to choose high-quality companies. So how many stocks are there in China’s stock market?

As of October 14, 2019, China’s A-share market has 3677 stocks. These stocks include all the stocks of Shanghai Stock Exchange (SSE/SSE) and Shenzhen Stock Exchange (SSE/SSE) in China. Shanghai Stock Exchange and Shenzhen Stock Exchange are commonly referred to as “Shanghai and Shenzhen Stock Exchanges” in China.

At present, the highest price of all stocks is Guizhou Maotai(贵州茅台, or Kweichow Moutai), with a share price of 1174.6 yuan. The lowest price is *ST dakong(*ST大控), the stock price is 0.64 yuan. The total circulation market value of stocks in A-share market is about 45.5 trillion RMB.
